Gymnasium Students in Wismar Learned about Native-American Literature

Author Debra Magpie Earling and two students

 

March 6, 2006. Debra Magpie Earling read from her highly acclaimed and award-winning debut novel Perma Red to 130 11th and 12th grade students and their teachers at the city library in Wismar in Mecklenburg-Pommerania. Earling discussed her work and shared her insights about life on the Flathead reservation, and the beliefs of her people. Questioning and discussion continued far after the time allotted.
