July 6, 2004. Consul General Susan Elbow said good-bye to Hamburg at this year's Independence Day Reception at the Rickmers building Atlantic in Neumühlen. Among the VIP guests were second mayor Schnieber-Jastram, president of the Hamburg parliament Röder and senator Dr. Freytag. Ambassador Coats and Marsha Coats also came over from Berlin to say how much Germany will miss her and that "Hamburg adopted Susan as a daughter".
