October 26, 2004. More than 120 employees of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce attended a reception at the American Consulate General as part of their “Betriebsfest” (company party) tour through four consulates in Hamburg. Greeted by U.S. Commercial Service Officer James Finlay and his wife the guests were informed about the upcoming U.S. election. In their remarks James Finlay and the Chambers General Manager, Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Schmidt-Trenz, also praised the excellent cooperation and working relationship between the U.S Commercial Service and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber was recently awarded with the Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade from the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize their success in increasing trade opportunities between the United States and the city of Hamburg.
